DC Dynamics: Batman Statue

DC Direct offers another piece from the DC Dynamics four part earth, water, wind and fire series designed by Tim Bruckner. So far, I thought that the Aquaman piece was spot on, while Robert had some trepidations about the piece. As for the Wonder Woman, you can check out our thoughts here....
Manufacturer DC Direct
Designed by Tim Bruckner
Sculpted by Tim Bruckner
Type Statue
Dimensions 11"h x 7" w x 5" d
Release Date May 2010
Retail Price $195.00

Zimm's Two Cents
I'm on the fence about this one. As there are some nice aspects about this piece, I think this piece is one that definitely needs the other 3 pieces to look right.

Points in Favor
  • Good Detail. The best place to see it is in the belt.
  • I like the face; however, when did Batman get a dimple in his chin? Has he always had one? But the face and exaggerated mask ears ad some characters.
  • Simple colors and a nice paint job make this piece stand out.
Points Against
  • While I love how the bottom of the cape flows, I don't necessarily like the pointed types of the cape. (Never have been)
  • The rock looks more like smoke then earth. I understand that he is supposed to be rising up from smoke, but something rocky would have been my preference.
Recommendation: It has a lot of detail, some good paint, and a great expression for Batman. I'm truly Neutral on this one - good enough to collect, but I would have to buy all four to want this one.

Shop Talk

After nearly five days of what can only be described as a "Halo Coma" I have finally made a sizable dent. Now let's talk some shop.

Jenny Slate dropped the F-Bomb on Saturday Night Live's 35 season opener. As always I approve.

I was wise to wait out the previous release of Watchmen on DVD, and will be rewarded November 3rd with Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut. If you liked Paul Blart: Mall Cop then I probably hate you. If you dig Taxi Driver then you should definitely give Observe & Report a look. Go to your Netflix, and add Big Man Japan now...you will thank me.

Head on over to Weta, and snag your copy of Dr. Grordbort Presents Victory. It looks to be a great companion to his Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory. If you preorder it from Weta you can secure yourself the signed bookplate edition.

Angus MacLane is an artist I will continue to keep an eye on. MacLane's Cube Dudes are the definition of cool. I'm partial to the Raphael myself.

After mentioning Tony Millionaire's new book last week I got a few emails asking what I thought of The Drinky Crow Show. Honestly this one got by me. I downloaded the first season from iTunes, and fell in love.

This sweet piece from Tony Millionaire's Sock Monkey: The Inches Incident
found it's way into my art collection.

Only 89 years after Women's suffrage, and we already have our first chick to
make Wizard's Top Ten Hot Artists List. Congratulations Amanda you just put
a few more cracks in that glass ceiling!

The Tokyo Game Show just ended, and with it were a few major announcements
about more motion control stuff. What did I like? It's worth a look. This
Rocktober 13th I look forward to the release of Brutal Legend...it can't get here
fast enough.

So what's up with you guys?

Blackest Night: Glimpse of Light

Okay, I made the title up, BUT I'm going to go pick up my comics today. Robert and I are working on some changes to the site(s), and I have a host of other little things that need to be accomplished between now and then. With that said, what do you think of this cover? I was able to read some of the pieces from the story, and wahoo! It truly is going to be all of the Lanterns trying to get along to take out the Black Lanterns. I think the Red Lanterns have a strong advantage, as the Black Lanterns are after the others hears.

Seriously, you need to pick up this series.

Villains fo the DC Universe: The Joker

The second villain from DC Direct to be offered in mini-bust format. If DC is now working to create an entire line of villains alongside the heroes busts, a DC geek can look forward to having quite a diverse collection.

Manufacturer DC Direct
Designed by Gary Frank
Sculpted by Jean St. Jean
Type Mini-Bust
Dimensions 5.75" H
Release Date May 2010
Retail Price $70.00

Zimm's Two Cents
Diversity is one of the things that I look for in my collection. In fact, I tend to gravitate toward the different pieces, and while the Joker is one of the more common characters put out by DC Direct, he is one piece of a larger collection.

Points in Favor
  • At a quick glance, this is a good characterization of the Joker. Him popping out of the box, holding Batman's mask like a puppet, and laughing.
  • I like the colors - very vibrant.
  • For a bust, only 5.75" H, there are a lot of little details in this statue. The buttons, the box, his jacket.
Points Against
  • Something about his face throws me off. I will have to look up Gary Frank's work.
  • The bottom part of the mask looks stiff and not 'flowy'.
Recommendation: Neutral. While I'm not overly thrilled with the piece, it still would make a good piece for those of you collecting the entire line of DC busts.

Robert's Two Cents
I'm not sure why they'd choose Gary Frank to design a Joker bust. He's spent more time in the Superman world. I first discovered Frank's work in the Incredible Hulk back in the 90s. I think he was the guy who replaced Dale Keown on the Hulk.

Zimm, I think what's throwing the face off for you is the nose. It's a more normal schnozz instead of the giant one he normally sports.

Points in Favor
  • He looks good. It's definitely a very Joker pose and the joker-in-the-box thing is classic Joker. They definitely captured the spirit of the Joker.
  • Initially, I didn't like the face either, but after looking at it for a while, I do like it. It's more of a real world depiction of the character.
Points Against
  • It's another Joker piece and, well, I just don't need another Joker.
  • I think the pose lacks personality. Yeah, it's the Joker, but it doesn't bring anything to the game. You could be looking at the Riddler or Catwoman in the same post.
Recommendation: Neutral. It definitely looks good. I don't think I need another Joker and if I did there's certainly no drought of material to choose from. I'd probably prefer a more traditional Joker face.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

In honor of the Jake's video weekend, I wanted to post some upcoming Nintendo DS games that have definitely caught my eye.

Zelda: Spirit Tracks

and for 2010, we should be on the watch for....

Golden Sun DS

I mean, seriously, what other games could you be thinking about when these are on the verge of being released. ;)

Am I missing anything, Jake?

Uni-Formz: The Classic FLASH

Manufacturer DC Direct
Designed & Sculpted by Monster 5
Dimensions Over 8" tall
Articulation 12 Points
Edition Size Limited Unknown
Release Date May 2010
Retail Price ?????

I saw that this was 'just announced' by DC the other day, and I could hardly wait to post it. Every one of these Uni-Formz pieces are looking great, and I'm finally starting to realize that you could not only piece together the Justice League with these awesome pieces, but you could also form an 'Injustice League' of sorts - which from a kids perspective, totally rocks!

Three characters of the Flash Character's are available
  • The classic version of The Flash, dressed in his traditional red uniform;
  • The villain Zoom, dressed in his traditional yellow uniform; and
  • Black Flash, dressed, of course, in a black uniform.
For someone reason, these 3 seem more tempting then any of the other 3 Uni-Formz groupings of 3.

Recommendation remains a 'Buy', but as the series grows, I'm inching toward a Hot Buy. A DC Universe of these characters is going to look "AWESOME."

Robert's Two Cents: I love the Flash Uni-Formz. I agree with Zimm's suggestion of setting these up as a Justice League and an Injustice League. You could have real fun with that.

Points in Favor:
  • Sweet! This is the costume this type of format was made for.

Points Against:
  • While I like that they did the Flash, Reverse Flash, and Black Flash, isn't it a bit strange they'd do one of these for the speedster version of Death. I mean, that's what Black Flash is.
  • The Reverse Flash logo should have a black background.
  • Is that really the Black Flash or more like a Bizarro Flash?
  • One really, really minor nitpick. They used what was basically Wally's costume, but used the Barry era belt.
Recommendation: Buy. They're cool. The Flash costume was one that these types of sculpts was born for. Going back to the Green Lantern one, I wish they'd done a Sinestro.

The Super Hero Squad Show TV Clip - Show Intro

IGN Video: The Super Hero Squad Show TV Clip - Show Intro

I have DVR'd the first 3 episodes of the show and am going to definitely find some time to watch the series. It looks to be fun and an easy way to connect younger kids to the Marvel Universe. Something that I will definitely be pushing off, with corresponding toys. Hmmm....do I hear cross-sell?

Not everything could be about cross-sell, up-sell or marketing? No, not everything. Somethings are just meant to be fun. Like the Super Hero Squad. Hmmmmm.....I don't remember if I have the Falcon.

Halo - Master Chief, 1:2 Scale Bust

Apparently, One2One will be producing a series of Halo 1:2 Scale Busts based upon the Halo Series. Do you think it has something to do with the new game that they are putting out?

Manufactured by One2One Collectibles
Sculptor Peter Mook
Size 12" Tall 12" Wide
Type 1:2 Scale Bust
Ship 4th Quarter 2009
Price $224.99

Zimm's Two Cents
I'm glad to see some another company stepping into the game and offering us some rather nice pieces. While I have purchased a couple of these pieces as gifts for my brother and nephew, I don't play the game. I've seen it.

Points in Favor
  • The paint and color on this are incredible. From the different shades of the green and grey/black pieces of the armor to the gold shine of his face plate, This was painted nicely.
  • Edition Size of 650 helps with this being a nice collector's item.
  • An ongoing aspect of these 1:2 Scale busts is that sometimes you don't really understand the level of detail until you look at the back of the statue, which holds true here.
Points Against
  • Longevity of the collectible. Once the game finally fades into the past will this piece still be worth having.
Recommendation: Neutral. While it is a nice piece, this is a piece definitely designed for the Halo player - who never will (or wants to) forget the days, weeks, and months he/she spent playing the game.

Shop Talk

For those of you that don't know I live in Japan. I'm asked on occasion what things I miss most about living in The States. There are the obvious things like family, food, and being able to understand the people around you. One thing I miss is simply sitting around the comic shop shooting the shit.

So lets jump in to a few cool things I found going on in the "Geek World", and talk some shop.

I just picked up the new Art of Tony Millionaire. Some times you just need more Sock Monkey in your life. I guess I missed out on Eric Powell's run on Superman: Escape from Bizarro World. So I snagged the hardcover.

Evidently September 13th was Roald Dahl Day? Apple rolled out a very cool featurette on the making of Fantastic Mr. Fox. Mrs. Dahl let director Wes Anderson move into her house to write the screen play.

I was recently a guest on the podcast Fanboy Confidential episode 44 discussing film maker Guillermo del Toro. I helped by being very sick, and doing zero show prep. Both are apparent.

The guys recently came back from the Atlanta Dragon Con. My friend Maurice hooked me up with a sweet William Stout commission of Dejah Thoris.
On day two of the con Maurice paid Stout for the commission along with a general idea of what I wanted. He told Maurice to come back the next day, and it would be ready. Maurice showed up at Stout's table the next day only to discover that Stout had sold the piece earlier to someone else. So Maurice had to sit there while he drew me another one.

Are you on shelfari? It' an online library to keep track of your books, and share them with others. I'm working my way through my collection...but I'm nowhere near Neil Gaiman's. I'm sure more than half of that is just porn.

Log on to your Netfix, and add Second Skin. It's a great documentary about the people who play MMORPGs. It' reduces playing World of Warcraft to a masturbatory addiction, and it's well worth your time.

I now stand on the eve of the Halo 3: ODST launch, and I am more than prepared to drop. Why didn't they just make a full length movie out of that? I'm hyped to travel down the "Road to Recon". I want my recon armor now. It's been over two years, and almost four thousand games, and I think I deserve it!

Next weekend I should have a report up from the Tokyo Game Show, and we have some friends attending the Baltimore Comic-Con in October.

So what's up with you guys?

Sideshow Collectibles: Punisher

Sideshow just posted this new comiquette statue to their website, and I figured that we needed to get a review on it done as soon as possible, as some of the better Sideshow Statues and Collectibles sale out rather quickly.

Manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles
Artists
* Martin Canale
* Hernan Azcarate
* Martin Demonte
* The Gore Group Team
* Steve Riojas
* Anthony Mestas
* Heath Hammond
* Mike Allen
* The Sideshow Collectibles Design and Development Team
Type Statue
Size 20" Tall
Ship 2nd Quarter 2010
Price $234.99

Zimm's Two Cents
When I first saw the picture of this statue, I was turned off, and was not in the mood to write another "pass" review. But, do you know what? This IS the Punisher! This statue rocks. It not only represents who the Punisher is but where he is from. They shows background, character, and attitude.

Points in Favor
  • Detail, detail, detail...and then even more detail. From the wrinkled shirt, to the knife on his back (click here to see a pic). From the bust to the tip of the gun. This statue has some incredible detail. I could spend an entire afternoon looking at all of the little pieces.....oh, I did.
  • The paint and colors. They did a great job here. Every little corner is covered. Check out his boots and you will understand what I mean.
  • Personality oozes from this piece.
  • Limited Run. Sideshow tends to be a little better about limiting their production sizes.
Points Against
  • I can't think of any.
Recommendation: Hot Buy. I've heard some good things about Sideshow Collectible pieces, and if you haven't gotten one yet, this would be a great place to start. If you have, then this one will make an incredible addition.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

I was (and am) a little bit late to the game on this one, but it is too damn funny not to mention. This a DVD that I am going to HAVE to order and have as part of my collection. If you have not seen it before, then you really need to google it and watch some of the videos. With it starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion and directed by the ever so great Joss Whedon, how can you go wrong?

Also, would he be considered a 'Steampunk' based villain? Look at the googles and gloves. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Update:

Apparently, I have to explain the significance of my post.
  1. Neil Patrick Harris - Isn't he doing the Emmy's this year? Didn't he host the Tonys'?
  2. Joss Whedon. .... Have I mentioned that I love Buffy?
  3. I never appreciated the Steampunk aspect of the villains. (See one of the other villains shown below).
  4. It's a musical, which is always fun. Duh!
  5. It is on DVD. Thank you, Things From Another World for pointing that out to me.
And because of those points, I am going to order it.

I wonder if the comic book is this much fun?

Dark Reign

Zimm's Two Cents
Overall, I haven't been that thrilled with this series. I've been wanting more and been left waiting on something to happen. A number of stories show promise, but when I compare the overall story arc with that of Blackest Night, I simply do not find it as compelling.

With that said, Brian Bendis is one of my favorite writers, and he has no problem with taken his time in building up a story - which is one of the things that makes him great. While some writers will push to get to a particular point in the story, he allows it to build over time.

If you have kept up with the series, he has been developing two plots that I am keenly interested in, and as any good writer should, he knows when to finally throw out the tidbits or development of the story to give me what I have been waiting on. One is the confrontation between Phobia and his father, War, and the other is the battle of power between Osborn, Doom, and Loki.

While I have yet to read the stories, the simple pics and insights available at IGN are enough to keep me coming back for more. Check them out.....(click). The pics are posted below with links to each article.

My final thought:
While it is easy to read and accept that a hero has fallen into the status of a villain, it is sometimes harder for us to accept that a villain has actually grown into a hero. Brian's other stories have me waiting and wanting to see who has the strength to become a hero - a hero (I would hope) who always has to fight being a hero and not falling back into the easy life of being a villain.

Recommendation: Bendis has proven to tell some incredible stories - Pull.

Brave and Bold with Dial H for HERO

Dial H for HERO always brings back memories of my teen years and when this character was first introduced to the comic geeks everywhere. We (the readers) were invited to send in create our own heroes, send them into DC, and then DC would determine which heroes they wanted to use in the series. I admit it. While I forget what hero I mailed in, I did mail one in, and while my hero was never selected, I loved the idea that all of the heroes that were used were created by other geeky fans. Just like me.

So, while Brave and Bold is currently on my drop list, Dial H for HERO may make it onto my secret pull list. You know - the comics that you secretly read and enjoy. But don't dare admit it to anyone.

So, for me, if you ask, its a drop. <>

Robert's Two Cents: Guilty pleasure, eh? This book hasn't worked for me for a variety of reasons. The art has been great from day one. It's the storylines that haven't done anything for me.

I too was a fan of Dial H for HERO back in the day, but Robbie Reed was long gone when I was reading it as a backup feature in Adventure Comics. I remember all too well the day one of the characters actually turned into Plastic Man, whom I don't believe was a Earth 1 character at the time, and how that fueled discussion about how the H Dials worked. In one of those rare moments in that day I actually got the issue where this was discussed in the letter column. One of the best parts of the Dial H series was they actually printed pictures of the original designs by the readers. It was interactive storytelling without the internet.

One other brief note, my favorite bearer of one of the H-Dials was Hero Cruz from the Superboy and the Ravers series in the 90s. I really enjoyed that series and was disappointed when they canceled it so they could release Young Justice. I always thought the Rave would have made a great headquarters for a group like Young Justice or the Teen Titans.

Pulls and Drops

Adventure Comics #2
Superboy is back. Wonder Girl is having lunch with him. Lex Luthor is seen poking around in the shadows. This looks like it may turn into a good read. Pull

Action Comics #881
Not really enjoying this series. In fact, the only "Super" based story that I am slightly interested in is the "Suberboy" Adventure Comics. Drop.

Agents of Atlas #11
This this book still going on? I may need to research to see if it is up for cancellation yet. I dropped this book a while back and have seen no real reason to pick it back up. Stay Dropped

Blackest Night (#3 of 8)
By far, the best crossover this year. While I have peaked at the villain, the story still offers enough to keep me guessing on how everything is going to be resolved. Continue to Pull.

New Mutants #5
Okay, tad bit of favoritism here, which is why this one is on my Pull list; however, the first story-arc focused on Legion. Classic team with classic villain. Nice.

Outsiders #22
I picked up #21, and it left no interest in me reading #22. Good concept; however, I think the story is lacking a true 'overall' direction, which means it will stay dropped.

Red Robin #4
This has hinted at being a good book. My problem has been accepting Tim Drake as Red Robin. I enjoyed him as Robin, but now with him being Red Robin, everyone else is older. However, Ra's al Ghul is involved, which is always interesting when done right. This one is on the fence for me. I may pull 1 or 2 to see what I think.

Uncanny X-Men #515
I believe that this is the episode that Beast leaves the team to be part of another group. I haven't been that thrilled with the direction of the team for quite a while, so this stays on the Dropped list.

Ame-Comi Heroine: Wonder Girl

Ame-Comi provides us with another DC Heroine; and I imagine that there are more to come. Let's just hope that they are considering adding a few more Heroes to the series.

Produced By DC Direct
Designed By Sanford Green
Sculpted By Jonathan Matthews
Type PVC Statue
Size 8.25" H
Ship April 2010
Price $60.00

Zimm's Two Cents
What the frack were they thinking? I mean...come on!

Points in Favor
  • It's another Ame-Comi piece for the collection. (That's all I got on this one.)
Points Against
  • She looks like a stripper! I realize that some heroines where small outfits, but they don't look like stripper outfits.
  • Her pose reminds me of an old Sears' catalog - entirely unnatural.
  • What is with the facial expression? Once again, we are back to the stripper or is she a 'woman-of-the-evening'?
  • This statue looks more like a Barbie Doll toll then a PVC collectible.
Recommendation: Pass. If you do want to get it (which I would never understand), wait for clearance.

Robert's Two Cents
Umm...underage stripper? Really?

Points in Favor
  • The overall look has the proper colors and the required elements to be Wonder Girl are there, but....
Points Against
  • I agree with Zimm. Not only does she look like a stripper, she looks like an underage stripper. Cassie's supposed to be about 16.
  • Maybe if they hadn't put the chaps on her and done something different with the bottoms and changed her pose, I might feel differently.
  • They even made the lasso inappropriate.
Recommendation: Pass. I might be biased. I have a daughter and am personally protesting the TV shows with little girls in beauty pageants. I think this costume and pose is completely inappropriate. Ame Comi Fail!

Honey! I'm Home!

It's Saturday, and my internet access was down all day yesterday. I have to pull all of the harvest and Halloween decorations out of the attic, I have to pick up my comics, and I still need to find some time to get a few other things done. Yet, with all of that going on, I still can't wait to read how the Teen Titans deal with the Blackest Night.

Somethings are better left alone.

I have heard a few other people mention this as well, so I don't mind repeating it.

Whose idea was it to give a bunch of Zombie's power rings? WHO?!

Halloween Planning or Steampunk Pt. 2

While some geeks enjoy the spookiness aspects of the season, others simply enjoy the ability to dress up in whatever costumes they want. However, it is also a period of time that some of the best geek props are offered. From a Cylon Mask, to a Harley Quinn costume, to justifying building out your Steampunk costume.

Did you notice how I used the excuse of this post to post a pic of Steampunk costumes? If you look at the costumes, the level of detail is incredible, and (as Rage Kage suggested), Google Steampunks and you will be amazed. I've already figured out what I am going to build into my design. Have you?

Steampunk

While I may be a little late to the game, this is a geek genre that I was immediately hooked on when I saw them at DragonCon. I found myself enjoying each of the different costumes and shopping for my own pair of goggles and spectacles. Some of the costumes were more extreme then others, but on average, the costumes were different and something that I could find myself wearing.

Overall - At first, I wanted a derby hat with goggles, but after looking over several different pages devoted to Steampunk clothing, I realized that I am more of the slouch hat. In fact, I actually wore one back in college when I spent a summer working on a ranch.

If you haven't heard of the culture, look it up. If you have heard of the culture and wonder why it took me so long to catch up, I apologize, but I give all of you credit. This is why I love being a geek.

If someone could provide me with some cool pics to post referencing this genre, please email them to me.

PS. As a final note, this is someone who spent his time hunting down a good 'Gatekeeper' costume at DragonCon. So for me to recognize something of such different styles and taste, you may want to give them a gander.

Holy Underoos, Batman! What are you wearing?!?

This is just way too funny! I actually went on a rampage through Wal-Mart and Target looking for some adult sized versions of this underwear, as I wanted to give it to my nephew.

Big Picture: Any teenage kid caught wearing these at school would be scarred for life, and as an uncle, part of my job is creating those scars and moments of severe embarrassment. Think about it. There would be at least one day in his life where he would run out of clean underwear and grab these in a moment of necessity.

Too funny and maybe, just maybe, a tad too geeky.

Robert:
I think I now know what I'm getting Zimm for Christmas.

Robert Kirkman: Invincible

When this book was first suggested to me - oh so many years ago, I immediately dismissed it as a poor purchase that I would have to force myself through. Oh, how wrong I was. After reading the first few trade paperback, I thought that Robert Kirkman would run out of material or that he had reached the peak of the series. Again, I was wrong.

I have never picked up the actual comic book, but I have collected each of the trade paperbacks, and while other trade paperbacks were not a must read - each one of these has been. I guess if I was going to define the series, it would be Peter Parker's life with Superman's powers. (There is even a redhead girl who has the hots for him.) However, the story keeps getting better. Dysfunctional father villain/hero. Boss who is a friend / villain.

The book maintains a great cast of supporting characters, which Kirkman is perfect at intermingling (just enough) to build on the story. There is a point to everything that happens, and once you realize that, you enjoy the down times as much as the battle scenes.

As for the pencils, Ryan Ottley is great. I actually have grown to appreciate his style and will have to follow-up with Robert on what other books he has worked on. (I don't keep up on that kind of stuff.)

If you haven't read one, pick it up. If you have read several, keep reading. This is what comic books are supposed to be about. Heroes, villains, and way too much drama.

Invincible Trade Paperbacks - Pull.

Atlanta DragonCon

Robert and I are headed over to DragonCon and spending some much needed time at the booths and exhibitors. I am looking for some statues and shirts. Robert is going for the autographs and sketches.

Marvel Mural

I think that I still prefer the Batman Mural; however, as a comic collector, this would make me feel like my collection consisted of even more comics. Again - however, it is a little on the busy side. I'm just curious what all covers were included in this mural.
If you are willing to spend the time and $249.99 required to put this up, then I guess it being so busy.

Once again - What the....more Beanie Masks!?!

Now I realize that the Farmer's Almanac is predicting a frigid year this year, but I think that these pull over masks would be a little to much. Every time you put one on, someone is bound to think that you did something, are going to do something, or are just plain guilty of something.

I expect that you will see them in some movie sometime soon with a bunch of college guys tping a house, while wearing the masks.

However, when they released the Joker Beanie Mask, I ordered one for my nephew. He thought it was GREAT - which proved my point. What was he thinking of doing? Or (now that he has had it for a while) what has he done?

You can find them here....SuperheroStuff.com

Serious Complex

Just how far does the rabbit hole go? There are times when playing Shadow Complex when you think the subterranean military base will never end...but it does after about six hours of game play. Shit! Spoiler! I mean...or doe's it take about six hours to complete? I guess I could cut this review short, and simply say "Go Buy Shadow Complex Now!". It's easily the best $15 I have spent all year. I have heard a lot of people compare Shadow Complex to Super Metroid but honestly I never played it so I wouldn't know. Sure the side scroll action takes me back to my NES days, and maybe that taste of nostalgia cranks up the fun a bit. But this little game has a lot going for it.

I really dig the crazy pulp story line. Evidently it's based in the same universe as the book Empire. And evidently the book Empire was written by a total nut-bar named Orson Scott Card.

The weapons, and upgrades are great. And my OCD really kicked in to find every last collectible...which I did. I even snagged the Status Update: Single Achievement.

I wish all titles were available for download. With one click it was saved to my Xbox 360 hard drive. No Amazon. No Gamestop. Just click, BAM, done!

But Shadow Complex is so last week...I mean Batman: Arkham Asylum just came in the mail so forget Shadow Complex I'm gonna get my Batarang on!

What the.....How Dare Thee!

To reduce Thor to such a simple character.....and with a Unicorn. What the frack are they thinking!?! This is wrong in so many ways! OR.....has Disney already infiltrated Marvel and started to change the brand to be more enticing for girls.

And here I thought that some of the caps were bad enough.

Now the Wonder Woman t-shirt....that's more like it. Reminds me of Maxwell Lord's encounter with the Amazon. Good Story.

And, in case you were wondering what a Thor t-shirt should look like! Check out the one that I put at the bottom of the page.

Sorry for all of the geek gear, but I am constantly trying to figure out which t-shirts would and woudl NOT work for me. Thor and Unicorn - NOT.

Too Geeky ... Motion Activated Yoda!

USB powered Yoda! From up to 6-9 feet away, Yoda's light saber will light up, and he will pronounce one of six possible phrases.

The phrases include:
  • "In the end, cowards are those who follow the dark side."
  • "A disturbance in the Force, there is."
  • "Retreat! Cover you, I will!
  • "Still much to learn, you have."
  • "So certain of defeat, are you? Hmmm…"
  • "Rush not into fight. Long is the war."
  • "Only by surviving it, will you prevail."
With the Dr. Who USB port and now Yoda, I will eventually run out of USB ports or have cords all over the place.

Coming in September 2009
Price: $27.99

Robert's Two Cents: You could always daisy chain them around your desk.
