Steampunk Walking Stick

Over the last year both my comics and statues have fallen to the side.   Yes, I've picked up a few, but they haven't been a primary focus on mine.

Much sadness.  :(

However, I did pick up a couple of other things - one of them being a Steampunk walking stick.  Here is a pick of it.  I've seen some other real cool ones, but this one fits my characters. 

Halloween Planning or Steampunk Pt. 2

While some geeks enjoy the spookiness aspects of the season, others simply enjoy the ability to dress up in whatever costumes they want. However, it is also a period of time that some of the best geek props are offered. From a Cylon Mask, to a Harley Quinn costume, to justifying building out your Steampunk costume.

Did you notice how I used the excuse of this post to post a pic of Steampunk costumes? If you look at the costumes, the level of detail is incredible, and (as Rage Kage suggested), Google Steampunks and you will be amazed. I've already figured out what I am going to build into my design. Have you?

Steampunk

While I may be a little late to the game, this is a geek genre that I was immediately hooked on when I saw them at DragonCon. I found myself enjoying each of the different costumes and shopping for my own pair of goggles and spectacles. Some of the costumes were more extreme then others, but on average, the costumes were different and something that I could find myself wearing.

Overall - At first, I wanted a derby hat with goggles, but after looking over several different pages devoted to Steampunk clothing, I realized that I am more of the slouch hat. In fact, I actually wore one back in college when I spent a summer working on a ranch.

If you haven't heard of the culture, look it up. If you have heard of the culture and wonder why it took me so long to catch up, I apologize, but I give all of you credit. This is why I love being a geek.

PS. As a final note, this is someone who spent his time hunting down a good 'Gatekeeper' costume at DragonCon. So for me to recognize something of such different styles and taste, you may want to give them a gander.
