Newbies Star Trek Uniforms

Wahoo! This one is AWESOME.

My neighbors across the street just had a baby boy in December, and one of these would be perfect.

Yes, yes. I realize that he is the ultimate sports fanatic, and if you did not know it already, he is also a Baseball Coach at the local High School. When we discuss geeky things, his eyes glaze over, his feet start moving, and some how I never get to finish my story.

He (and his wife) accepts my geekiness. I accept the fact that he is interested in some of type of outdoor activity, but that does not mean that his son is lost cause. There is hope, which is why I should start early.

Just Another thing that is Too Geeky!

So they had cologne for men, why not some perfume for women?

Release Date: July 2009
Price: $29.99

But I guess the real question is: Would a Trekky wear this stuff?

Your not even sure what it smells like! Besides, how can they prove that this the actual scent of Pon Farr? Yet, it might be a good way for the girls to tell if their boyfriend is a Trekky or not - without having to ask.

What the......MURALS!!!!

I had not seen any of these, until I stumbled across the Start Trek version. (Shown below). And the best part about this, is that I could see a number of my friends putting this in their rooms. At first, I was aghast!
But then I stumbled across some others and found one that I liked.

So now - I have no comment.

More Geek Attire: Star Trek Dresses

Robert, how about these for your wife? You could get the blue and she could get the gold.

Reg price: $55.00
Release Date: June 2009

Robert: Zimm. Um, are you implying I should wear one of these? I mean I have the legs, but it might get a bit breezy. I'd also need to get a tan on my legs. If I were to wear a dress/skirt, I'd get the Utilikilt instead.

Zimm: I was implying that your wife might wear one of these. Halloween?

Geeks for Everyone

While reviewing the unique Halloween costumes for everyone, I also noticed that they are starting to provide costumes for EVERYONE - and that includes sizes for the majority of us out there. Take the new Star Trek costumes. I am posting the red shirt costumes in both small next to the GT sizes for your comparison.

Not only did they tell us that they were available, but they also showed us.

Knowing how clothes shrink these days and realizing that I have some ice cream in the fridge calling to me, I am thankful that they are offering the GT sizes.

Robert: Or the Mr. Scot edition.

Star Trek Barbie Dolls

Ummm.... yeah.

First let me say, this isn't the first time Star Trek Barbie Dolls have been release. Back in 1996, Mattel release a Ken and Barbie Star Trek gift set (seen here). And being more of a Star Wars fan than a Star Trek fan, I had already forgotten they were released.

I'm curious who Mattel is targeting with these? Clearly collectors, but which collectors? They are ostensibly appropriate for children 6 and up. And before you get up in arms about it, yes, I realize some Barbie collectors are trekkers (or is it back to trekkies?). But personally, I've only known one that would admit it. I'm pretty certain my daughter, who does like dolls and sci fi (smart for almost 5 isn't she?) might like them, but she doesn't have $43.19 to spend on a single Barbie doll. It looks like they're primarily targeting Wal-mart, walmart.com, and barbiecollector.com retailers for distribution, which again makes me question the price point. I guess, personally, I see Star Trek collectors possibly buying these, but not too many other people.

Release Date: April 20, 2009
Price: $43.19
Type: Barbie Dolls

Robert's Two Cents:

Points in Favor:
  • Look pretty decent.
  • Likenesses look pretty good for the cheap plastics used to make Barbie dolls.
  • Costumes are well made.
Points Against:
  • Price, I don't know about you, but I'm saving my Star Trek merchandise money for the Captain's chair (kidding).
  • They're Star Trek Barbie dolls.
Recommendation: Pass, go buy the Huntress Ame Comi (Zimm, what has your niece said about her shoes) instead here. Maybe I'll get these for Zimm for Christ..don't throw that statue, Zimm.

Which shirt would you own?

Zimm: I stumbled upon these t-shirts the other day, and while I am neither a Trekkie nor a Star Wars nerd, I did get a kick out of these t-shirts. I, personally, would want the red-shirt. The red-shirt always dies first! Too funny.

Robert: Even though the red one would look better, I would wear the blue one. I actually had the blue one when I was five. McDonald's were giving out iron ons of the Star Trek logo because the first Star Trek film was coming out and I had my mom buy me a light blue shirt and iron it on, so I could be Spock. The funny thing is I had only seen a few episodes of Star Trek at that point in my life.

Released: February 2009
Price: $19.99
Recommendation: Buy
We all should own at least one.

What the Frack????

I can understand some of the Star Trek geeks truly enjoying this; however, if I am going to spend $2,100 (much less $2,700) on a chair. I want it to heat up and massage my ass! That way I can sit through even more episodes of Star Trek without having to get up.

However, if you want it:

Available: April 2009
Retail: $2717.01
On Sale Here for: $2,145.99

Go Figure.
