Invisible Mercedes - Booyah!

Something inherently geeky about all of this!

If you are one of the 6M who hasn't seen it....

If they only had made it affordable.

What the .... A Snuggy for Geeks?

I never wanted one of these. I still don't think I want one.

BUT - you have to give them credit. How often do you see an item perfectly tailored for the geek. The individual most likely to spend half - if not all - of his day playing a video game, reading, watching a movie, or configuring his RPG character.

I wonder which ones they will release next. You have to wonder.

Robert: I may need to get the one on the right for my 3 year old and take lots of pictures for future blackmail material. I wonder if my mother-in-law lets my father-in-law wear the Snuggie we bought him last year?

Geek Geer

Finding some really cool stuff this month and working on writing up the posts to show you.

However - I stumbled across these t-shirts, and I really got a kick out of them.

Sometimes, the coolest part of wearing these type of shirt (or seeing someone wear a this type of shirt) is the fact that only you (or a fellow geek like you) can truly appreciate them.

Batman, Wolverine, Superman, and the other main stream hero t-shirts are a 'dime-a-dozen'.

These......only a geek would appreciate.  Only a geek would wear.

What the frack! A Lamp! A Darth Vader Lamp!

Is this not the ugliest thing that you have seen? Why the frack would anyone want a lamp this ugly in their room?

Yes, yes.

It doubles as an alarm clock and speaker, but that does not justify the $41.99 someone would fork over for this thing.

What makes this story even worse, is the fact that you could even order (or choose) Boba Fett and/or a Stormtropper.

Egads!

Robert:
If it weren't for the lampshades, maybe, just maybe, I'd consider the Boba Fett for my 3 year old. But the lampshade creates a block head effect that I'm not sure I'm buying into.

Superman In Training

My neighbor is close to having his baby boy, and my attention has been drawn to which gifts I could potentially give the newborn. Out of all of the 'superhero' based infant jumpers - this one seems to really rock.

However, you are setting some steep expectations for the kid at an early age.

If you like, you can find it here. (click).

Available: January 2010
Retail Price: $17.99

Note from Robert: I don't think I would have bought this for my son when he was small enough to wear something like this. I would have bought it if it were blue though. The gray doesn't really work with the Superman logo. YMMV.

What the....$200 Batman Cuff-links???

Now, I know that doesn't sound to astonishing, but when you see the $200.00 price tag associated with the cufflinks, then you are likely to say, "What the frack!"

I double checked, and since the rings are sterling silver, they are $200.00. I looked at them for a while and think that I would opt for the $50 to $65 pair of Superman, Green Lantern, Batman, Star Trek or even Mickey Mouse cuff-links.

Comic Geek Agenda

My neighbors next door had a baby girl. Down the street it was a boy. Across the street they are going to have a baby boy, while his sister just had a baby girl.

What I realize, is that I have to start early. I have to indoctrinate the children into the Geek lifestyle. I have to start it off with something simple, and then, as they grow, to keep the work up. To empower them with their inner geekiness until - one day - they turn to their mom and/or dad and say, "Can I go to ComicCon?"

With all of them being babies, I can buy them a Nintendo or comic book. I can flood the house with Ben 10 DVDs, but I can buy them baby clothes. Lots and lots of baby clothes.

Bwahahahahahaha

Sizes range from 6-12 mos, 12-18 mos, 18-24 mos. So you can start them at anytime.
They also have: Batman, Batgril, Superman, Supergirl, and a Superman/Batman one.

Robert: I wish they had these when my kids were babies.

Steampunk

While I may be a little late to the game, this is a geek genre that I was immediately hooked on when I saw them at DragonCon. I found myself enjoying each of the different costumes and shopping for my own pair of goggles and spectacles. Some of the costumes were more extreme then others, but on average, the costumes were different and something that I could find myself wearing.

Overall - At first, I wanted a derby hat with goggles, but after looking over several different pages devoted to Steampunk clothing, I realized that I am more of the slouch hat. In fact, I actually wore one back in college when I spent a summer working on a ranch.

If you haven't heard of the culture, look it up. If you have heard of the culture and wonder why it took me so long to catch up, I apologize, but I give all of you credit. This is why I love being a geek.

If someone could provide me with some cool pics to post referencing this genre, please email them to me.

PS. As a final note, this is someone who spent his time hunting down a good 'Gatekeeper' costume at DragonCon. So for me to recognize something of such different styles and taste, you may want to give them a gander.

Holy Underoos, Batman! What are you wearing?!?

This is just way too funny! I actually went on a rampage through Wal-Mart and Target looking for some adult sized versions of this underwear, as I wanted to give it to my nephew.

Big Picture: Any teenage kid caught wearing these at school would be scarred for life, and as an uncle, part of my job is creating those scars and moments of severe embarrassment. Think about it. There would be at least one day in his life where he would run out of clean underwear and grab these in a moment of necessity.

Too funny and maybe, just maybe, a tad too geeky.

Robert:
I think I now know what I'm getting Zimm for Christmas.

Just Another thing that is Too Geeky!

So they had cologne for men, why not some perfume for women?

Release Date: July 2009
Price: $29.99

But I guess the real question is: Would a Trekky wear this stuff?

Your not even sure what it smells like! Besides, how can they prove that this the actual scent of Pon Farr? Yet, it might be a good way for the girls to tell if their boyfriend is a Trekky or not - without having to ask.

Chaos, Catch-Up, and Geek Gear

I know you don't care, but my house has been chaos and it has been a little bit harder (then normal) for me to post some updates. In fact, my office is still in state of disarray; however, I thought I would provide you with a "what the?????"

When would the Punisher EVER carry a messenger bag? Now, I might, as it makes the messenger bag somewhat cool, but the Punisher?

Release Date: August 2009
Reg price: $29.99
Sale price: $23.99

More Geek Attire

This time, it is for the men, and from what I can tell - we need all of the help with the muscles. The Hulk rocks though - as it INFLATES! That's what I am talking about. While Cap and the Punisher have some great shoulder "muscles", I have to give it up to the Ghost Rider's hair.

What the...Joker Ski Mask

The Dark Knight Joker Combination Ski Mask & Winter Beanie

I'm not too sure what I think of this. Got it from Boing Boing.

Zimm's Two Cents:
I think that my nephew would love it, as he loved the movie; however, it makes me wonder if they are profiling the people actually purchase it.

If I had a say, I would profile everyone who bought it.

What the...Is It a Sword Or Is It an Umbrella?

Is it a sword or is it an umbrella? It's an umbrella.

This is too cool. It's an umbrella with a samurai sword handle from Think Geek. What I could do with one of these...

Specs:
  • A really sturdy umbrella with the handle of a samurai sword.
  • Push button opening.
  • Nylon "scabbard" included - with adjustable shoulder strap.
  • Dimensions: 38.75" long; 41" opened diameter
  • Price: $29.99 plus shipping
  • It would be cool if it came in a Heroes version.
One additional thought: I probably wouldn't take it with me through airport security. Or maybe I would. I only get pulled out for additional screening about 24% of the time.
