And here I thought that they were only doing a few in this series.

Points in Favor
  • It's part of a complete series.
  • Boots. Very cool boots. Wonder what the niece thinks of these. If she doesn't like them, then I can't show her my boots.
  • Smooth design.
  • Great colors. Black and red. LOL
Points Against
Recommendation: Buy. This entire series is worth collecting. Or am I giving it a 'buy' because it's Buffy. Probably.

Robert's Two Cents
Spike who? Buffy? He looks kinda like the guy who played Brainiac on Smallville or one of Captain Jack's former flames on Torchwood.

Points in Favor
  • Seriously though, it looks cool. I would consider it myself even though I was never a fan of Buffy.
  • This one looks more like the actual actor than any of the others even if it is a tooned up version.
  • The boots and the jacket are very cool. They take me back to the 90s when all of the cool characters had a trench coat and lots of buckles.
Points Against
  • I am not a Buffy fan. I just never got into it. I did buy the trades of the 8th series from Dark Horse, but I'm a huge Georges Jeanty fan.
Recommendation: Neutral. I like it but it's not my thing.

Buffy Tooned up Faith Statue

By now, some of you might have realized that I am die hard 'Buffy' geek. Which means that I have been waiting anxiously for the next tooned up Buffy Statue.....and Electric Tiki delivered with Faith.

Produced By Electric Tiki
Size 9" H
Type Tooned Up Polystone Statue
Edition Size TBD
Release Date 1st Quarter 2010
Price $99.99

Zimm's Two Cents
From an initial glance, I loved this piece; however, that is because I am biased. After giving it a second glance over.....

Points in Favor
  • Interchangeable stake or Mayor's Knife.
  • Action pose of her jump kicking captures Faith.
  • Faith's evil grin.
Points Against
  • Paint looks a little sloppy in places. Bracelet around the hand holding the knife.
  • Head looks a little disproportionate from certain angles.
Recommendation: This is hard for me to do, but Pass. I won't grab this piece, as I perceive a few (what I would consider) flaws; however, if you are collecting the entire line, you will always need Faith. However, she does look good next to the Buffy tooned up statue....click here.

Can't wait to see who is next!

Tooned Glorificus

Yet another tooned maquette from one of my all-time favorite tv series, BUFFY! This time, it is Glorificus. How am I ever going to be able to truly review these statues? I think that some of my reviews for this series may end up a tad bit biased.

Designs by: Tracy Mark Lee
Sculpted by: Elliot Sumons
Type: Statues
Statue: 8"
Release Date: May 27, 2009
Limited Size: 500
Price: $89.99
On-Sale Here: $71.99

Zimm's Two Cents:
Points in Favor

  • It is another edition to an ever growing collection of Buffy statues.
  • I actually like these tooned out versions.
  • Colors are nice and bright.
  • Sculpting is clean. Points to Elliot Sumons.
Points Against:
  • I think that I would have preferred some other characters before this one.
Recommendation: If you are a Buffy Fan, like myself - BUY! I may still start this Buffy collection.

Oh yeah - this reminded me. I need to pick up the most recent Buffy Graphic Novel.

Robert's Two Cents:
Points in Favor

  • Good design and sculpt.
  • Good price point.
  • The tooned versions of many characters turn out pretty well. I've been watching the Firefly/Serenity series of comiquettes.
Points Against:
  • I'm not really a Buffy fan.
  • I don't even know who Glorificus is.
Recommendation: If you are a Buffy fan, like Zimm - BUY! If not, there's nothing to draw you to these. If you're not a Buffy fan, you're not going to see this in the store and be pulled over to it to just stare, like people who walk into one of the Marvel stores at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. So, I'm going to call it neutral.

I do own the first Buffy Season 8, but still haven't read it. I just looked at the pictures. The Fray trade I really, really liked. Same with the Tales of the Vampires.

Buffy, The Vampire Slayer

One of my all-time favorite TV shows was "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer." To this day, I think the show had some of the best writing, stories, and characters. Recently, Tracy Mark Lee started "tooning" the television series, and here is Buffy!

Produced By: Tracy Mark Lee's Tooned Up Television Series
Dimensions: 10" Tall
Type: Polystone Statue
Edition Size: 1,000
Ship Date: February 2009
Estimated Price: $99.00

While I am my be focusing my statue collection primarily on the comic genre, Buffy has been converted into an awesome comic series from Dark Horse with Tim Burton at the helm.

I'm debating on whether to start collecting these, but here is Willow (available now) and Dark Willow (available April 2009).

Recommendation
: If you are as big of a Buffy fan (as I am), then this are likely a BUY!

Robert's Two Cents: I've never been a big fan of Buffy, but these are pretty nice.

Points in Favor:
  • Good design.
  • Paint looks good.
  • Price.
  • I do like that weapon that Buffy is wielding.

Points Against:
  • I'm not a big fan of Buffy. I liked what I watched, but I never got hooked.
Recommendation: If you like Buffy, Buy, otherwise Pass. For the price, these are great.
