Shop Talk

After nearly five days of what can only be described as a "Halo Coma" I have finally made a sizable dent. Now let's talk some shop.

Jenny Slate dropped the F-Bomb on Saturday Night Live's 35 season opener. As always I approve.

I was wise to wait out the previous release of Watchmen on DVD, and will be rewarded November 3rd with Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut. If you liked Paul Blart: Mall Cop then I probably hate you. If you dig Taxi Driver then you should definitely give Observe & Report a look. Go to your Netflix, and add Big Man Japan now...you will thank me.

Head on over to Weta, and snag your copy of Dr. Grordbort Presents Victory. It looks to be a great companion to his Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory. If you preorder it from Weta you can secure yourself the signed bookplate edition.

Angus MacLane is an artist I will continue to keep an eye on. MacLane's Cube Dudes are the definition of cool. I'm partial to the Raphael myself.

After mentioning Tony Millionaire's new book last week I got a few emails asking what I thought of The Drinky Crow Show. Honestly this one got by me. I downloaded the first season from iTunes, and fell in love.

This sweet piece from Tony Millionaire's Sock Monkey: The Inches Incident
found it's way into my art collection.

Only 89 years after Women's suffrage, and we already have our first chick to
make Wizard's Top Ten Hot Artists List. Congratulations Amanda you just put
a few more cracks in that glass ceiling!

The Tokyo Game Show just ended, and with it were a few major announcements
about more motion control stuff. What did I like? It's worth a look. This
Rocktober 13th I look forward to the release of Brutal Legend...it can't get here
fast enough.

So what's up with you guys?

I'm glad I held out on the Watchmen release as well. Actually, shit, I might have bought it. I can't remember. Anyway, the Victory (book?) looks pretty awesome.

They hooked up ODST at work last Friday but I didn't play it because it looked like the same shit that Halo's been for the last 8 years. In its defense, I hear that it's the best Halo yet.

I've had Big Man Japan on my Netflix instant view for a little while now, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I threw some other weird japanese shit on there too. Tokyo Zombies or something like that. I'd like to see Observe & Report, but it's not really a burning desire.

I've seen the Drinky Crow Show before. Didn't really capture my attention. I might have been pre-disposed against it though, just because I think that most of the stuff they put on Adult Swim these days pretty much blows ass.

Speaking of Adult Swim, Dethalbum II (from Metalocalypse) comes out tomorrow. I've got the deluxe edition pre-ordered from Amazon. Can't wait for that to show up. Season 3 is starting soon and they managed to up the run time to 30 minutes. I'm fucking stoked about that.

Last weekend Surrogates and Pandorum were released. I didn't go because I hate opening weekend crowds, but I'll probably try and see them both this weekend. I'm excited about Zombieland coming out this weekend as well. To be fair I'd probably watch a movie of two dudes making out for an hour and a half if they were both zombies. Zombies are pretty much the only thing that make life worth living.

Two weeks until Brutal Legend! I'll do what I can to pick it up on the 13th, but it'll probably take awhile to get it out to you.

Me thinks Kage has a way with words. What do you say Rob & Zimm?
