This piece works! And while I have seen some of the other pieces already, this one (so far) is my favorite.
Points In Favor.
- Original costume and colors.
- Great Colors!!!!
- The level of detail on this piece are perfect. The ripples in Aquaman's shirt, the detail in the water, the blue in his eyes, etc.
- Perfect action pose for Aquaman. Rising from the water.
- The face seems to fit him perfectly. Neither happy nor angry, but there. Great detail here as well.
I don't have any for this statue. I have been waiting for weeks on when I could provide a formal review.
Recommendation: HOT BUY! It is not that often that you can get a great statue of one of the other Heroes within the DC Universe, and in my humble opinion, this is a great statue. I'm glad to see that it is not another Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman.

I do like it, but do I need an Aquaman statue in my collection? If I did, I would rather have the blue "camo" costume from the late 80s. This piece does look good and I think is superior to the Wonder Woman one from the same series.
Points In Favor.
- I like the color sheeny look to the shirt.
- Good movement. Yes, it's a statue, but the representation of movement is very fluid looking.
- The face seems to fit him perfectly. Neither happy nor angry, but there. Great detail here as well.
- He should probably look angrier. He always seems a bit angry in the comics ever since the 80s.
- I can't see the scales in his shirt. They may be there, but I don't see them in the pictures.
- Do I really need an Aquaman statue?

But you can't see the scales on his shirt.
Yeah, isn't his shirt supposed to be shiny? Sort of like goldfish scales?
I think I would rather have an Aquaman statue more than another Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman state.
Did his shirt always have the scales.....hmmmm.....research time. I thought the scales was something that had been added over time.
Yes - you're right. His scales have been there for a long time; however, I am pleased with the simplicity of the shirt.
In my best Comic Book Guy voice:
I'm just arguing about the authenticity of the representation of the character.
End CBG voice.
I agree on the point of another Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman. It frustrates me to no end that every series of toys or statues DC releases almost always starts with a Batman or Superman.
No need to silence the CBG voice, that is half the fun.
As for your point about Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman - I totally agree! It is one of the frustrations that I have with their collectibles.
That and their runs don't tend to be as consistent as Marvel or Bowen.
hmmm, while the aquaman statue is nice these are the kind of statues that would get old quick. They look good in the photoshopped picture but after a couple of weeks after there released these things will be all over ebay....BIG PASS
While I agree that these would be all over ebay, my enjoyment of the statue is that it is one that I don't have as of yet. However, to your point, DC Direct tends to put out rather large 'limited editions' of their collections, which tend to make them not that much of a collectible.
