OK, a few non trade/graphic novel highlights:
Buy Stack:
BATMAN #686 & DETECTIVE COMICS #853 (It's Neil Gaiman writing Batman again. Yes again.)
BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #26 (King Tut from the 60's TV show makes his first appearance in comics. And if that's not enough, it's written by Christina Weir and Nunzio DeFilippis. They're a pretty good team. OK, I'm not really going to buy this. I don't even like the thought. Next we'll get Vincent Price's Egghead or whatever his name was, but it's a funny idea.)
BATMAN: GOTHAM AFTER MIDNIGHT #10 (Batman by Steve Niles and Kelley Jones. Nuff Said.)
ACTION COMICS #874 (James Robinson is updating the Mon El story. I've been a Legion of Super Heroes fan since I was a kid. So I'm really enjoying the Legion appearances in the DCU.)
BLACK LIGHTNING: YEAR ONE #3-4 (Art by Cully Hamner. Plus he's one of the coolest DC characters ever. I've liked Black Lightning since the original Batman & The Outsiders.)
R.E.B.E.L.S. #1 (Brainiac's son is back and running from the cosmic police forces of the DCU. Plus it's by Tony Bedard and I really enjoyed his Crossgen work [BOHICA!].)
Pass Stack:
THE OUTSIDERS #15 (I dont' think DC knows what to do with them any more.)
TANGENT: SUPERMAN'S REIGN #12 (Just don't care)
TITANS #10 (Ditto!)
BLUE BEETLE #36 (Final Issue.)
Thought of the day:
I think the DC Universe is the most confusing it's been in 50 years. I'm not even sure who's on which Earth and don't really like the Rainbow Lantern Corps. I'm really not sure what the whole purpose of all of the Crisis series of the last few years is about. And the worst thing is, I don't care enough to figure it out. I'm picking up specific runs on specific books and walking away from many series I used to stick with through think and thin. Geoff Johns writes comics action like no one's business and his love of the Silver Age is second only to Mark Waid, but his Green Lantern revival has left me cold. DC Comics are slowly dropping off my lists one by one.

I totally agree with you. I feel like DC has lost their way, and Marvel does not appear to be that far behind.
Dude! I'm barely reading the X-Men. The same X-Men I've bought monthly since 1988 and have every issue since the end of Dave Cockrum's first run. It's that bad.
Marvel does bring in people like Warren Ellis, Joss Whedon, and let them do their thing though.
At DC Dan Didio and Grant Morrison are rumored to going back and forth over the ending to Final Crisis.
