Cover Girls of the DC Universe: Catwoman

Catwoman is the newest addition to DC Direct's ongoing "Cover Girls of the DC Universe" series. This statue is definitely based upon the Adam Hughes interpretation of the Catwoman, which is a character more of a Catwoman that I can understand.

Produced By: DC Direct
Based On The Art Of: Adam Hughes
Sculpted By: Jack Mathews
Dimensions: 9.5" H
Type: Cold-Cast in Porcelain
Edition Size: Limited Edition
Ship Date: October 2009
Estimated Price: $99.99

Zimm's Two Cents
DC Direct is finally putting out some statues that I am really interested in adding to my collection, and this happens to be one of them.
Points in Favor
  • Price.
  • To me, this is what Catwoman represents in today's series. She isn't a fighter - she is pesky cat.
  • Sculpting and paint look really good. I can even see a hint of color in the googles.
  • Like the face. Not seductive - more sly.
Points Against
  • The base. Too plain for my own taste.
Recommendation: Buy. For the price, this one would not be a bad edition to my collection.

Robert's Two Cents
Wow! $99.99? That's amazing. Also, the face looks more like a Phil Noto design than an Adam Hughes.

Points in Favor

  • This is the modern Catwoman.
  • It's an Adam Hughes design. The face looks more like Phil Noto than Adam Hughes to me, but the rest is clearly Adam Hughes.
  • Paint job.
  • Zimm, I think the color you're seeing in the goggles is plastic lenses.
  • Price. It's only $40 more than the Ame Comi PVC statue.
Points Against
  • Size. It's a little small, but for the price it's not too bad.
Recommendation: Buy. Nice sculpt. Cool character. You can't beat the price.
