Doctor Who: 11th Doctor Named

Or is it technically 12th? Isn't David Tennant technically both the 10th and 11th Doctors? But I digress..

Anyway, the new Doctor has been named and as expect...wait, who is this? Matt Smith? Hmm....

Interesting looking chap. At 26, Smith is the youngest to ever play the Doctor. Filming to begin this summer and airing to begin in 2010.

He's an interesting looking guy. I'll definitely be there to see what he does with the character. While some of the previously mentioned hopefuls/possibles were very appealing to me, this different direction could prove interesting.

Smith will have big shoes to fill as David Tennant is one of the most, if not the most, loved Doctors of all time.

David Tennant still has four specials to be released over the next year, so we're not done with him yet.

Updated to add one stupid note: Since Mr. Smith is one of the aliases the Doctor has used over the years, he could be the first actor to play the Doctor using his own name.
