The Caper Show is back. Leverage is a new show created and written by
John Rogers. How does this fit the Comics & Geeks motif? I'm glad you asked. John Rogers has been a fan of comic books and was the writer of the new
Blue Beetle series by DC Comics for a while (and announced as being cancelled). He was also the lead writer on the aborted Global Frequency series based on the comic series by
Warren Ellis (If you haven't seen it, go out to those naughty places and download it. It's worth it. I promise.). After having seen the pilot, I must say, it's going to be a pretty good show. While there is a little pilotitis, I think almost every pilot has to grow through some things.
Timothy Dutton is one of my favorite actors (He made a great
Archie Goodwin
). And any show written by a former standup comic who has a physics degree has to be good, right?
CBR has a pretty good write up on the pilot and the series
here.
Go watch it. It's worth the time. It's on TNT Sunday, Dec 7th, at 10:00 EST.
