Bowen Designs Faux Bronze Iron Man

Originally I didn't like the Faux Bronze line from Bowen, both as an attempt to re release existing sculpts without technically violating the original edition size at a higher price than the original release, and aesthetically, these characters seem like the belong in color, not monochrome. Now after seeing them on Zimm's shelf, I've changed my mind. They look really sharp.

The latest edition in this "series" is the Iron Man. This looks really nice.

Manufacturer: Bowen Designs
Sculpted by: Randy Bowen
Dimensions: 13 1/2" tall overall
Edition Size: Unknown, but it's a Bowen website exclusive
Release Date: Summer 2009
Retail Price: $250.00

Points in favor:
  • The faux bronze looks sharp, almost like Iron Man was made for this treatment.
  • It's the "classic" Iron Man armor.
  • A really nice sculpt and pose.
  • It's a Bowen sculpt.
Points against:
  • Price, but at $250 it's one of the less expensive faux bronzes.
If I buy one Iron Man statue, this is it. Plus, if you order it from Bowen directly, you can request Randy Bowen himself sign it for an additional charge.

Rating: Hot Buy!

And of course I'm contradicting myself from Monday, but so what!

Yeah - but these look really good in the faux bronze. Also, the Kucharek Brothers are the ones that did the bust and then the statue.

Right! The Kuchareks may have sculpted them, but Randy Bowen has final say on what gets produced.

They do look awesome.
