Parker Coming to IDW

IDW Publishing released a press release back in July announcing that they would be publishing a series of comics by Darwyn Cooke based on the first four Parker novels written by Richard Stark.

Do you remember the movie Payback starring Mel Gibson? Even better the Director's Cut? How about Point Blank starring Lee Marvin? The character from those movies originated in a 1963 book titled The Hunter. He is Parker. He is not a good guy. He is a bad guy. A very bad guy.

Also good news, Scott Dunbier, late of Wildstorm Comics, is editor on the project. He was editor of many of the best projects to come from Wildstorm and is the mastermind behind the creation of the Absolute Edition hard covers from Wildstorm & DC. It looks like he's working his magic over at his new home, IDW.

Plus, it's by Darwyn Cook of JLA: New Frontier fame (available in two trades as Volume 1 and Volume 2). He was also responsible for the recent Spirit (Volume 1 and Volume 2) relaunch by DC.

So when it comes out, buy it.
